Set Up Your Label Canvas
When you open LabelForge, you’ll start with a blank canvas. The first thing to do is make sure that canvas is the right shape, size, and color.
- Click the Label Setup button (wrench icon) on the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Set the width, height, and orientation of your label.
- Choose the type of label stock you’re printing on and the ribbon color you’re printing with.
- The label length options, let you choose whether your label design stays at your set size (fixed), or adjusts its length automatically to fit the elements you add to it (dynamic).
Add a Symbol
LabelForge includes a huge library of standardized symbols for a variety of applications.
- In the menu on the left, click the Symbols
- Choose the Category of symbols that you’re looking for. You can also choose All to scroll through all the symbols included in the database.
- When you see the symbol you’d like to use, click on it to add it to your design.
- Position your symbol in the design area by dragging it into place.
- Use the plus or minus buttons on the toolbar to increase or decrease the symbol’s size.
Add Text
Most labels or signs will include some text, or a message.
- Return to the Main Menu by clicking the X button below the list of symbols.
- Choose Text.
- Choose your Font Style, Size, and Alignment.
- Click the Add Text button to add your new text object to the design and type your message.
- Position your text on the label by dragging it into place.
Add a Custom Image
It’s also easy to include your company logo or other custom images on your label designs. But first, the image needs to be saved on your computer or labeling system.
- Click the Import This will open a file browsing window.
- Locate the image file you want to use and click Open. The image will appear in your design as a new object.
Pro tip: If you start with a very small image and make it larger with the resizing tools, it may look grainy or jagged when printing. If you notice this, try starting with a larger version of the image.
THE TORO MAX METHOD
- Transfer the image file from a computer to a USB thumb drive.
- Plug the thumb drive into the Toro Max. A folder will appear on the main screen.
- Open the folder and drag the file onto the Toro Max desktop.
Print Your Custom Labels
If you want to save your design for later use, click the Save button in the toolbar. You’ll be prompted for a file name.
If you’re ready to print, click the Print button. You’ll have your custom label in hand in seconds.
